Before I even read what you posted I thought. . ."Wow, look at all those shelves!" How great is that--my OCD to go overboard with those!

Ok... I'm officially jealous! The thing I love most about the whole room is the windows! They are great and so unique! The green and white contrast is so sharp on the walls and trim. It looks really great decorated for Christmas! I really like the ceiling also- the inset part- whatever that's called. Great architectural features!

Nick, your OCD would officially be in overdrive trying to keep all these shelves neat. I am hoping to eventually get some baskets to try to organize some of the smaller items. I do love this room. The lighting is great and the shelving makes it ideal. I love that the kitchen windows open into this room so I can supervise from there. I plan to paint in here mabye a warm spicy orange. It will work well with the restof the house and be different. What do you think?

I love the spicy orange idea - the green is a little dark in my opinion. I too love the shelves. What a perfect room for school - if I had a room like that I would home school. Okay, maybe that wouldn't be the deciding factor - you and I have talked about this before! I just like to make hypothetical dogmatic statements.

Rachel C. painted their downstairs orange and it looks really great! I so go for it. You already have lots of other green. Beth S.

Thanks, Beth! We like the orange, too!! Anna, go for orange! I had never painted it before, but it's such a fun color! Keep in mind that the first coat will probably look neon - at least ours did. Just keep going! If you want to check out the color we used it's called "Serape" by Sherwin Williams.
